Chimera Consulting have been in business since 2001. CEO and Founder; Adam Jeffrey felt it was time to refresh his brand and give his company a smart new look. We began with the logo update and this is the result.
I worked as a Senior Graphic Designer at De Montfort University but sadly had to leave after the birth of my second daughter as the family-life juggle was all too much. However, I very much enjoyed my time there and got to work on a huge range of projects including prospectus covers, course leaflets, internal communications, pull up banners, university guides, presentations, social media posts, promotional material and even translating the international student guide into Arabic!
Shown on this page is a leaflet for Heritage Sundays, the University’s Sustainability Report and The Stephen Lawrence Memorial Order of Service.
Syndrome is a brand new play written by Tina Jay. It will be performed at The Tristan Bates Theatre, in Covent Garden, London this February (2020) . I was brought on board the project to design the poster and marketing material for the play.
Here’s a bit about the production:
Deno, Ray, Matt and Gabe are four young British soldiers on combat duty in Saudi Arabia in 1991 during Operation Desert Storm. Waiting to move to the front and facing the feared release of chemical and biological weapons, the men spend their long heated days in scheduled military preparation undergoing a ‘protective’ barrage of vaccines, sprays and pills. Mounting tension is relieved only by their friendly rivalry and humorous banter.
The action builds to a devastating and shocking discovery and then jumps to five years after the war when the guys are reunited but are no longer the ‘lads’ of the past. Far from battling the known enemy, they are struggling against the unseen war on their own bodies, debilitating consequences known as Gulf War Syndrome. As the symptoms continue to manifest, each of the men’s relationships come under fire, with desperate and destructive consequences.
Logo and branding design for East Midlands Clinical Canine Massage. A lovely job to work on, my client had a really clear idea of what she wanted her logo to look like for her new business. She can help to rehabilitate soft tissue and muscular injuries, help support orthopaedic conditions, such as arthritis, hip/elbow dysplasia. She works with a wide range of dogs including senior dogs, and pet dogs. Lisa specialises in helping sporting dogs such as those that do agility and canicross.

In 2006 I moved across to the other side of the world to live in Australia. I had already lived there for a year (from the end of 2003 to 2005), which is when I studied Graphic Design at the amazing Shillington College. On my return to live there as a resident I got a job working for Cengage Learning as a book designer, initially on the primary age books but then later, moving to a senior position as a secondary book designer. On my return to the UK in 2010 I was lucky enough to create some book covers designs on a freelance basis for McGraw Hill publishers. The designs shown here are Abnormal Psychology, Work Health and Safety and Physical Education for WA.
No. 61 in Chellaston, Derby sell beautiful gifts, flowers and homeware. Their little shop is a treasure trove of delights. They wanted a simple, timeless design for their logo and this was the result.
Alternative fashion and body piercing studio Toxic Bunny approached me to help them design a brand new look for their shop. They wanted to move away from their original ‘grungy’ look and move towards a fresher more modern approach to appeal to the hipster crowd.
Taking a small aspect from the original logo, the bunny’s swirly eyes, I created a simplified brand mascot with scissors for ears.
The branding has been used on shop signage, a rug for the shop, tote bags, stickers, business cards and gift vouchers.

Zainab Jagot Ahmed is a cook and multi-award winning author of two fabulous cookery books; Easy Indian super Meals and Flavour Led Weaning.
Zainab approached me to design a logo for her business and create brand identity to help her stand apart from all the other baby and child brands out there. One that represented her and her unique approach to baby weaning and cooking for children.
I was instantly struck by Zainab’s recipes, they were full of flavour and bursting with nutrition. Like sunshine in a bowl and that’s where the inspiration for this brand came from.
Not only does she have two wonderful cook books but a fantastic website too, full of great ideas, hints and tips for feeding little mouths. Yum. Why not check it out?
I was delighted to be approached by Hi Viz Safety to design their brand mascot. Their brief was to create an instantly recognisable, quirky character, a friendly face for the company’s website and social media channels. They wanted to steer their brand away from the serious and sometimes austere matter of health and safety law and make their brand approachable, welcoming and fun. To bring Health and Safety law into the 21st Century. The result was Hi Viz Jack: a rather dapper chap with a penchant for dressing up and welcoming customers to their straight-forward, jargon free online system. Over the past few years Hi Viz Safety have attracted huge success, not only with the hundreds of businesses, which have signed up to their system but also as Small Business Sunday winners awarded to them by the one and only Theo Paphitis.

Bertie and Boo started out as an entertainment company, performing magic shows at children’s birthday parties. Their company grew and now they own two venues in South West London. Their Balham based cafe; Adventure Island is also a fabulous soft play centre, which serves up delicious food and fun in equal measure. Their Northcote Road restaurant and play centre is a great place for families to relax and unwind, while the kids are fully entertained in their fabulous playroom. I’ve been designing and illustrating for Bertie and Boo since 2012. I’ve produced a huge range of materials for them including menus, window vinyls, signage, colouring pages, menu boards and even a story book. It’s a delight to create for such a fun and vibrant company. Go check them out!
